Zoo mourns passing of elderly giraffe

GARDEN CITY, Kansas – The Lee Richardson Zoo in Garden City is mourning the passing of a long time resident. Shingo, a 29 year-old reticulated giraffe, was euthanized by staff Wednesday due to his declining condition. The necropsy revealed signs of liver cancer and pancreatic abnormalities.
