Youth Voter Turnout For 2014 Midterm Election Lowest In 40 Years: Report

Youth turnout and registration for the 2014 midterm election were the lowest the United States has seen in 40 years, according to a new report released Wednesday. Data from the U.S. Census' Current Population Supplement showed only 19.9 percent of 18- to 29-year-olds voted in 2014, a drop from when 24 percent voted in the 2010 midterm, the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement at Tufts University found.
