Young musicians take center stage at Carnegie Hall

It was a once-in-a-lifetime performance they’ll never forget.

Young musicians from Placentia-based Southern California Youth Philharmonic recently performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City as part of the Viennese Masters Orchestra Invitational, featuring music by Mozart, Strauss II, Bernstein, Shostakovich and Rachmaninoff.

“It was like nothing I’ve ever done before,” said bass principal Harrison Bangert, 15, of Placentia. “It was just amazing. It was pure enjoyment.”
