Watch: USC blocks UCLA punt and returns it for a touchdown to take lead in rivalry game

PASADENA — After falling behind early to crosstown rivals UCLA, USC got back on top thanks to two special teams plays.

First, a successful fake punt attempt set up a 44-yard touchdown pass from JT Daniels to Amon-Ra St. Brown to get the Trojans within four.

Then, receiver Jake Russell blocked a UCLA punt at the Bruins’ 10-yard line. Devon Williams scooped up the ball, turned around and ran it into the end zone to give the Trojans a 17-14 lead in the second quarter.
