Views differ on welcoming migrant caravan

Thousands of Central American migrants fleeing their native countries in a U.S.-bound caravan were stopped at the Mexico-Guatemala border yesterday as they filed onto a bridge connecting the two countries.

Mexican authorities started to let some migrants trickle through the border while others, tired of waiting, pushed over a steel border fence and were met with tear gas and pepper spray.

Boston-area officials are weighing in on solutions to what is a continued humanitarian crisis.
