A pilot managed to safely land a single-engine airplane at Long Beach Airport. Sunday, Nov. 5, despite losing a piece of the aircraft’s nose gear upon takeoff, officials said.
The incident unfolded about 3:30 p.m. at the airport, 4100 Donald Douglas Drive, according to Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor.
“A Beechcraft BE36 lost part of its nose gear while departing from (Long Beach Airport) this afternoon,” he said.
