U.S. special ops forces expanding in Iraq to battle ISIS

WASHINGTON— The U.S. military's decision to deploy a new special ops force to Iraq to fight the Islamic State group is getting mixed reaction.

Republican Sen. John McCain calls the move a "belated step forward" in the fight against IS.

Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy warns "the slow buildup of U.S. combat soldiers inside Syria and Iraq risks repeating the mistake of the Iraq War."

One U.S. official says the force could total up to a couple hundred troops.
