
As soon as Seema Verma was sworn in as the new administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, overseeing America's two biggest health programs, she and Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price sent a letter to the nation's 50 state governors promising them new flexibility and freedom in overseeing Medicaid benefits for poor, disabled, and elderly beneficiaries.
