12 years ago this week (July 20, 2003) the British Grand Prix was punctuated by a safety car period. Nothing unusual about that. But this wasn't because of a big crash or the sort of tropical rain shower British summers are famed for: in this instance, a de-frocked priest wearing a kilt had burst on to the track and was running at on-coming cars waving a biblical warning.
