PANAMA CITY, Fla. — The Latest on Subtropical Storm Alberto (all times local):

Subtropical Storm Albert has gained strength as it approaches the northern Gulf Coast.

Forecasters say Alberto was centered about 195 miles (315 kilometers) west of Tampa, Florida, at 7:30 pm. EDT and moving to the northwest at 10 mph (17 kph).
