Sprint (S) surged in midday trading Tuesday after a report said the Softbank-controlled company has re-started merger talks with T-Mobile U.S. (TMUS)
Sprint shot up 14% to 5.87 on the stock market today. T-Mobile rose 6.5% to 63.59. The Wall Street Journal reported that Sprint and T-Mobile were in early-stage talks.
Deutsche Telekom (DTEGY) owns T-Mobile. Sprint and T-Mobile broke off merger talks in early November.
