Ringleader of $5 million scam in Southern California gets prison time

SANTA ANA – The convicted ringleader of a $5 million scam that played out in Southern California was sentenced Monday to more than four years in prison.

Francis Wilde, 66, of Mountain View was sentenced to 51 months in prison during a hearing at the federal courthouse in Santa Ana, while co-defendant Mark Gelazela, 44, of Marina Del Rey received 41 months behind bars, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
