Rescue team en route to help entangled whale near Dana Point Harbor

A young gray whale entangled in line was spotted off Dana Point, the second sighting in a week’s span off the Orange County coastline, though it’s unclear if it’s the same whale.

Rescuers were en route Saturday afternoon to try and remove the line, wrapped around its tail and fluke area, said Justin Greenman, assistant stranding coordinator for the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration’s Stranding Network.
