Renovations begin for Irvine schools with $319 million bond money

IRVINE Some elementary school students will notice upgrades to their classroom when they return to school next month.

Renovations have begun at six of the 28 aging Irvine Unified School District schools that will be upgraded with a $319 million bond voters passed last year.

The district plans to receive the money in four parts over 12 years. Funding for the first series is $95 million, which will go toward 21 schools.
