In Kansas, wells tapping the critical Ogallala Aquifer continue to run dry.[I]rrigation soon could end on Peterson’s southwest Kansas farm. The wells under his land in Stanton County are fast running dry as farmers and ranchers across the Great Plains pump the Ogallala faster than it can be replenished naturally.
