Nets Granted Disabled Player Exception

The league has granted the Nets a $6MM disabled player exception for the loss of Jeremy Lin, Sham Charania of The Vertical reports (Twitter feed). Lin ruptured the patella tendon in his right knee on opening night.

Organizations which receive the DPE can sign a player, though it must be a one-year pact, or trade for a player who is in the final year of his deal. Brooklyn’s exception, along with the Pelicans’, which was also granted today, will expire on March 10.
