Legionella bacteria found in Chapman University cooling tower, no illnesses reported

ORANGE — Legionella bacteria were found in a cooling tower at Chapman University’s Keck Center for Science and Engineering, university officials said Tuesday, June 19. No illnesses have been reported.

A university statement said the bacteria were “immediately contained” and was believed “to have minimal if any exposure to the campus and surrounding area.”
