Lake Forest becomes the hottest spot in the U.S. Saturday

It may be a frigid 47 below zero in parts of North Dakota, the coldest region in the country Saturday.

But here in Southern California, according to the National Weather Service, Lake Forest set the record for not just being the hottest spot in the United States, but for the hottest Jan. 13 since 1916.
