Iowa hospitals aim to better prepare for the next flu season

With a surge in number of influenza cases this year, Iowa hospitals encourage people to get flu shots, and health workers hope for vaccines to be more effective.

The Iowa Department of Public Health reported in February that the number of flu-related deaths in the state this season has reached 185, and influenza activity has fallen from “high” to “moderate.”
