Indianapolis sees 149th homicide of 2017, on pace to surpass 2016 record

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A deadly shooting on Wednesday put Indianapolis on track to surpass the number of homicides the city saw in 2016.

Police were called to a home on Knox Street where they found one man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital, but later died. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed this case is being investigated as the 149th homicide in 2017. That’s the same number recorded in Indianapolis for all of 2016.
