In ‘Boundaries,’ Vera Farmiga is caught between dad, son — and dogs

NEW YORK — Vera Farmiga could not resist “Boundaries,” in which she plays a mother of a teenage son who’s still trying to cope with her irritating, endearing, emotionally impossible father.

An autobiographical story from writer-director Shana Feste (“Country Strong”), “Boundaries” begins as Laura Jaconi (Farmiga) is cautioned by her therapist to completely avoid her rascally dad (Christopher Plummer, “All the Money in the World”).
