Hot dog shop in Winston-Salem celebrates 50 years of business

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Turn on your parking lights.

Buster Williams told the Winston-Salem Journal that’s the correct way to let the staff at Kermit’s Hot Dog House know that you want someone to come out and take your order.

And he should know: Williams is the son of Kermit Williams, who opened the business 50 years ago this weekend, on Jan. 10, 1966. Buster Williams and Paul Church have been running Kermit’s since they became business partners in 1975.
