Hoosiers lose Davis for season with torn Achilles tendon

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Indiana center De’Ron Davis will miss the rest of the season after having surgery for a torn Achilles tendon.

Coach Archie Miller said Davis injured his lower right leg during a non-contact drill in Thursday’s practice.

The 6-foot-10 sophomore had started each of the Hoosiers’ first 15 games. He was averaging 9.6 points and 4.3 rebounds while shooting 61.5 percent from the field, second in the Big Ten.
