Hawking reveled, ruled in TV guest star roles

Stephen Hawking, who died Wednesday at the age of 76, was perhaps the most exclusive guest star in television history. He graced both “The Simpsons” and “The Big Bang Theory” a number of times. Outtakes became viral, and remain viral to this day.

He also voiced three episodes of “Futurama,” while his 1993 cameo on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” is easily the most memorable cameo by a physicist on any iconic pop cultural fixture ever.
