Freezing watch issued for most of tri-state area as cold and possibly snow return Saturday night

NEW YORK – The National Weather Service has issued a freezing watch as temperatures are expected to slip Saturday night.

The agency said the alert is in effect from late Saturday into Sunday morning. Forecasts predict temperatures to hover around the upper 20s to lower 30s.

The areas affected are: all five boroughs of New York City, Nassau and Suffolk counties in Long Island, Hudson, Essex and Union counties in New Jersey and Fairfield, New Haven in Connecticut.
