Ferrari crashes into ravine trying to evade raccoon in the road near Orange County line

The driver of a Ferrari veered off the road and down an embankment after trying to avoid a raccoon early Monday morning on Brea Canyon Road west of the 57 freeway.

At about 1:40 a.m. the white Ferrari 458 was traveling northbound on Brea Canyon Road when the animal appeared to cross the road, said California Highway Patrol Officer G. Bautista.

“(The driver) took evasive action and ended up hitting the guard rail…and the vehicle ended up going down the embankment,” Bautista said.
