FollowNews is committed to producing accurate, fair, and transparent journalism. These standards guide every story we publish.

Sourcing

All factual claims must be attributed to identified sources. We rely on:

• Official government press releases and public records
• Court documents and law enforcement reports
• Named sources with direct knowledge of events
• Data from the National Weather Service, state agencies, and federal databases
• Established news organizations with editorial standards comparable to ours

Accuracy

We verify information through multiple sources before publication. When a story relies on a single source, we identify that limitation clearly. We do not publish rumors, speculation, or unverified claims as fact.

Corrections

When we make an error, we correct it promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted at the top of the affected article with the date and nature of the correction. Significant errors are also noted in our corrections log. To report an error, email corrections@follownews.com.

Independence

Our editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers, sponsors, and outside interests. Sponsored content is clearly labeled and separated from editorial content. Our journalists do not accept gifts, favors, or compensation from sources or subjects of coverage.

Fairness

We strive to present all relevant perspectives in our reporting. When covering disputes or controversies, we seek comment from all parties involved. We do not take editorial positions in our news coverage.

AI-Assisted Reporting

FollowNews uses AI tools to assist with research aggregation and initial drafting. All content is reviewed, edited, and verified by our editorial team before publication. AI is a tool in our newsroom, not a replacement for human judgment and verification. Our journalists are responsible for the accuracy and quality of every story published under their byline.

Privacy

We follow standard journalistic practices regarding the identification of private individuals. We generally do not identify victims of crimes, minors, or private individuals unless identification serves a clear public interest.

Conflicts of Interest

Journalists must disclose potential conflicts of interest to their editors. We do not cover stories in which a journalist has a personal, financial, or familial interest without disclosure and editorial oversight.
