Dudley Square advocates seek help to stem ‘economic crisis’

Community members in Dudley Square held an “economic crisis meeting” Saturday as storefronts in the district are closing at a rapid pace, calling on elected officials to assist the neighborhood.

As the Herald previously reported, business owners and advocates are raising alarm over the fact that as many as eight businesses shuttered over the past year, citing rising rents and changes in shopping practices, and calling for action to be taken to boost local entrepreneurs.
