Disney Networks Still Losing Subscribers, But Recent ESPN Uptick

Walt Disney‘s (DIS)  first-quarter results trounced expectations as “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” boosted the Mouse’s studio and consumer products arms, but the media and entertainment giant continued to lose subscribers for its cable channels.

Disney CEO Robert Iger also told CNBC late Tuesday that ESPN, which has lost 7 million subscribers in the last two years, has “actually seen an uptick recently.”

Adjusted earnings climbed 28% to $1.63 a share, well above views for $1.45...
