HOUSTON — Despite three goals from Diego Rossi, the Los Angeles Football Club lost to the Houston Dynamo in the U.S. Open Cup semifinals Wednesday night at BBVA Compass Stadium.
The teams were tied at 3 after regulation and extra time, then the Dynamo won the eight-round penalty kick shootout 7-6.
Houston reached the first U.S. Open Cup final in its history and will play Philadelphia on Sept. 26. The Union beat Chicago 3-0.
