BSO conductor Andris Nelsons opens new season with Bernstein program

Boston Symphony Orchestra conductor and music director Andris Nelsons doesn’t play favorites. The maestro will happily gush about upcoming performances of such masters as Beethoven and Shostakovich; he will also enthusiastically champion programs that debut contemporary composers.

“Every week we have a concert, what we are performing is my favorite music in the world,” Nelsons said.
