Brampton father charged with manslaughter after his 21-month-old daughter starves to death

BRAMPTON, Ont. — A Toronto-area man accused in the death of his 21-month-old daughter is now facing an upgraded charge of manslaughter.

Frank O’Dea, 42, of Brampton, Ont., is also charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life in the girl’s death.

He was initially charged with criminal negligence causing death.

Police say the upgrade stems from a new forensic report that found the cause of death to be malnutrition and dehydration.
