Boston's housing goal going up

Boston’s booming economy is the reason the city’s population has grown so much that Mayor Martin J. Walsh’s affordable housing plan for 2030 is increasing its housing targets from 53,000 units to 69,000 units, city officials say.

At a roundtable discussion yesterday in the Eagle Room at City Hall, officials revealed updates to Walsh’s 2014 housing plan “Housing a Changing City: Boston 2030,” one of Walsh’s first acts as mayor.
