Boston police shoot dog that attacked woman

Police shot a dog that attacked and injured a woman on Eustis Street yesterday, police said.

Police from Roxbury’s Area B-2 were called to the scene at 3:49 p.m. and found the dog still attacking the woman.

“In an effort to prevent the dog from further injuring the victim, an officer discharged his firearm, striking the dog,” police said. “Animal Control responded to the scene to take custody of the animal.”

The dog’s breed has not been established, police said.
