Artist Turns Old Books, Magazines, and Computer Manuals into Crystallized Sculptures

San Francisco-based artist Alexis Arnold turns old copies of National Geographic magazines, phone books, Holy Bibles, and classic hardcovers into crystallized sculptures. The artist has always been influenced by “the visual display of time,” and for her continuing series, she was mainly inspired by the changing landscape of reading, from the growing popularity of e-books to the increasing death of bookstores.
