Artist chops up paper to create these hyper-realistic photos

South Korean artist Yoo Hyun creates portraits of iconic figures using an unconventional medium. While other artists use ink to depict their works, Yoo on the other hand, uses space.

Armed with a large piece of paper, tweezers, and an X-Acto knife, he painstakingly cuts seemingly random zig-zag patterns in the canvas. This might seem like an unproductive endeavour at first, but it’s only when he holds it up that the artwork comes to life.
