Anti-gay marriage clerk in Kentucky faces voters in forum

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Running for re-election, a Kentucky clerk who was jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses after gay weddings became legal has told voters she did not treat anyone unfairly.

Republican Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis spoke at a candidate forum Tuesday night with her Democratic rival Elwood Caudill Jr. Caudill said if he is elected he would treat everyone equally because he took an oath to uphold the law.
