An astronaut spending one year on the Space Station is about to see some new faces

A trio of crewmembers is spending their final hours on Earth before launching to space for a five-month stay on the International Space Station.

Russian cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko, Japanese astronaut Kimiya Yui and NASA astronaut Kjell Lindgren are set to fly to the Space Station atop a Russian Soyuz rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 5:02 p.m. ET on Wednesday. The three new residents should arrive at the Space Station about 6 hours after launch.
