EDEN, N.C. — Seven people were rescued off the Dan River Sunday night when they got caught in a storm.
Eden Rescue Squad Chief Jason Wood told FOX8 that their innertubes punctured during the storm, went flat and they got caught in a tree.
The incident happened about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
The people were not injured and safely waited for rescue workers to use a boat to bring them back to shore.
The rescue took about one hour. The Leaksville Rural Fire Department assisted.
