Separate Severe Weather Activity
While the Missouri-Iowa region remains under thunderstorm watch, severe weather struck Michigan earlier in the evening. The National Weather Service Detroit office issued a severe thunderstorm warning for areas of southeast Michigan at 5:19 PM EDT Sunday.
Those Michigan storms produced 60 mph wind gusts and moved northeast at 45 mph, affecting Warren, St. Clair Shores, Mount Clemens, Romeo, Capac, Sterling Heights, Clinton Township, Armada, and Macomb Township around 5:25 PM EDT. The storms continued northeast, reaching Richmond, Yale, Memphis, and Emmett by 5:30 PM EDT before moving toward Port Huron, St. Clair, and Marysville.
